Future puppies from “Penny” and “Walter”
Penny, now eight months old, is experiencing her first heat cycle. When we breed her ( still down the road ), she will be bred to Walter.
Penny is a very curious, self confident, sweet puppy. She has a very similar disposition to Gina.
This will be another fantastic combination with Walter………..

Happy holidays to all
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to everyone
Gina is celebrating Christmas on the beautiful Oregon coast with her new family. She is loving all the attention she gets now that she is the center of Cynthia and Robert’s world. She is one lucky dog!
And the puppy from Pearl is on his way to Seattle to join his “half sister” and a Rottweiler.
Looking forward to the future breedings. For more information, please contact me. Thank you all for your inquiries.
Happy New Year 2012

Pearl
Pearl, Hundmeister’s Alnilam, gave birth to a little boy Friday, October 28 with a little help from Dr Hoffman and the staff at Lake Grove Veterinary Clinic .
After this little puppy goes to his new home, Pearl will be available for adoption. She is a wonderful Dobie who loves to retrieve balls and bring them back to you. She gets along with other dogs very well. But five dogs in one house hold is unfortunately too much! Interested individuals can either call or send me an email.

Pearl is due around October 28
Hooray! Pearl and Walter are expecting around October 28. The pregnancy was confirmed by the second ultrasound.
Her first litter only produced one puppy. At this point in her pregnancy, it looks like another small litter.
We will check her again in two weeks ( around October 14)

Dobermans and cardiomyopathy
Dobermans and some other breeds more commonly are affected by abnormal hearts: cardiomyopathy. In Dobermans, it is referred to as dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Veterinarians recommend these breeds have a cardiac specific physicial exam, and then an echocardiogram and a 24 hour ECG recording ( also known as a Holter monitor) annually. Pearl, Walter and Gena all went yesterday for their annual exam. This year, as last year, all three are well within normal limits.
Lake Grove Veterinary Clinic is going to offer the 24 hour ECG recording Holter monitors soon. They are rented out. If anyone is interested, please contact the clinic to schedule.
