Describe Your Dogs and the Parents of the Current Litters

We currently have two females – Pearl and Penny – and two males - Walter and Sunny.  All four are beautiful AKC-registered Dobermans.  Walter was born in 2006 and Pearl in 2008.  Pearl and Walter are had their first litter together in the spring of 2011.  Sunny is the son of Walter and our previous mom Gina.  He is a great example of the wonderful dogs our puppies turn into!

We have raised these dogs to be loving pets and companions, not to be show dogs or protection dogs.  You can notice that in both their look and disposition – all three dogs have natural ears, and are incredibly sweet and loving.

Walter, despite being a fairly large Doberman, thinks he is a small lap dog; he loves cuddling and learning how to play fetch.  Pearl is very energetic and loves playing tug-of-war, or really anything else with people.

How are the Puppies Cared for?

We take pride in having healthy puppies.  As Jerry is a small-animal veterinarian, the puppies are extremely well cared for.  During their first few weeks, all puppies are vaccinated and have their health checked frequently.   Additionally we place micro-chips in all of the dogs to make sure you and your pet will always be together. As for more cosmetic items, after they are first born, we crop the tails on all of the puppies.  As pictured, none of our current dogs have cropped ears.  While we had Dobermans with cropped ears for a long time, we decided when we bought Walter to no longer crop their ears.  We leave this decision up to the  new owners.  The parents also have their health checked frequently.  All three of our dogs are routinely checked by a breeding veterinarian to ensure the safest litter possible.

How are the Puppies Raised Before Going to Their New Homes?

We want our dogs to be family friendly, sweet dogs, and we raise them with this in mind.  The puppies and older dogs all sleep inside and are raised as loving house pets.  But they also get to enjoy the outdoors.  We have a 5-acre plot of land, so the dogs have plenty of room to play and run around.   Once the puppies are large enough, they often spend their time out on the lawn investigating and running around.  This helps them grow physically but we believe this activity also helps the puppies become happier, smarter dogs.  To make sure they are socially friendly dogs, the puppies are frequently held and played with by both adults and children.

How Can I Buy a Puppy from Winter Ridge Dobermans?

Our price includes a $500 deposit so you can ensure your spot on our wait list.  We encourage interested buyers to come visit Walter, Sunny, Penny and Pearl before making a decision, just so they can see what our adult dogs are like and if they would fit in with your family.  We hope you find that our puppies would make an excellent new member to your family!

    Catherine,
Just wanted to say hello. Lucius is a wonderful family dog. We love him dearly. His personality is so much like Walter’s. He too believes he is a small lap dog! We have not had any health issues with him. We continue to be amazed by how much he watches and learns. His latest target has been the tree squirrels in our back yard. He has finally figured out their escape routes and has begun cutting them off very quickly. Luckily they are much smaller and more agile then he is, so they have evaded being caught! Thank you for the wonderful experience of watching him grow from new puppy to coming home with us. We are VERY pleased with our experience and the quality of your animals.
    The Winkelman Family
